The story of Inox Design began in January 2001, when brothers Alexander and Günther Taschler decided to take the step into self-employment and establish their own company.
The first projects took shape in an old basement in their hometown of Dobbiaco. In just 54 m², the brothers planned, manufactured and completed their first orders, while the administrative work was still carried out in their childhood bedroom.
As the first successes came in, the need for more space quickly grew as well. Before long, the makeshift workshop had reached its limits: the premises were simply too small and no longer met the needs of the young company. It was clear that Inox Design was ready for the next step in its development.
Later that same year, the brothers began looking for a more suitable building, as the number of orders continued to grow and space was becoming increasingly scarce. Eventually, they found a property in Monguelfo. The rented building was somewhat larger, but its condition left much to be desired: there were no windows, no doors and not even proper sanitary facilities. As a temporary solution, parts of the workshop were separated with nylon sheeting to provide at least some protection from the cold winter temperatures. Important customer meetings were held in a nearby bar.
With tremendous energy, motivation and determination, the two brothers continued to pursue their vision and soon began taking on larger projects and more substantial orders. At the time, the stainless steel industry was booming, and the company hired its first two employees.
However, the rented premises fell far short of both expectations and the safety standards required for a production facility. During this challenging early phase, the brothers therefore decided to invest all of their savings in the business — savings that were by no means substantial at the time.
